Use How to Use Caution if Scented with Essential Oils
Body Wash Apply a few drops directly to a wet loofah, sponge, or washcloth. Lather up and rinse thoroughly. Generally safe. Use caution with strong EOs if skin is sensitive. Avoid near eyes.
Face Cleanser Dilute 1 part soap with 2 parts water. Massage gently onto damp skin. Rinse with cool water. Use unscented or mild EOs (like lavender). Avoid citrus, peppermint, or cinnamon. Patch test recommended.
Hand Soap Pour into a foaming dispenser and dilute 1:3 with water. Shake gently. Pump and wash. Safe for most. If family has skin sensitivities, choose unscented or mildly scented versions.
Shampoo (for Normal Hair) Dilute 1 tbsp of soap in ½ cup of water. Apply to wet hair, lather, rinse. Follow with vinegar rinse. Scalp may react to strong EOs. Use mild EOs and rinse thoroughly. Avoid peppermint or citrus if sensitive.
Baby Wash Dilute 1 part soap to 4 parts water. Apply with a soft cloth or hand. Rinse well. Avoid all essential oils for babies. Use only unscented versions.
Pet Shampoo Dilute 1 part soap to 3 parts water. Wet coat, apply, lather, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid essential oils for cats. For dogs, only use pet-safe EOs (e.g., lavender), and consult a vet.
Multipurpose Household Cleaner Mix ¼ cup soap with 1 quart warm water in spray bottle. Use on surfaces. Add essential oils if desired. EOs like lemon or tea tree are safe and beneficial. Ensure proper ventilation and dilute well.
Dish Soap Use 1:1 ratio of soap and water. Apply with sponge or brush. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Generally safe. Avoid overly scented varieties if hands are cracked or dry.
Laundry Detergent Add 1/4 to 1/3 cup soap to wash cycle. For hard water, add 1/2 cup vinegar to rinse cycle. Mildly scented is okay for most. Avoid strong scents for sensitive skin or baby laundry.
Fruit & Veggie Wash Fill bowl with water, add few drops soap, stir. Swish produce around, rinse well. Do not use scented soap. Essential oils may leave residue or affect taste.
